LED Strip Lights - High Quality vs Low Cost RGB LED Tape - Delta Lights

today we are going to show you the differences between high quality and low quality RGB LED strip lights even though most are debility strips look very similar there are many different components that make the LED strips and they can vary massively in terms of brightness richness in colors length of life reliability and color consistency firstly we will show you the difference in the brightnesses light output is measured in lumens we can measure the lumen output of both LED strips by using the same setup of all of LEDs at 100% power and holding the lumen reader exactly the same distance for each test as you will see the low quality LED strip shows a maximum of 775 lumens and as you will see the high quality LED strip has a maximum of 1425 lumens as you will see the high quality LED strip is nearly as double as compared to the low quality LED strip just to show you exactly how the setup was created both LED strips are wide directly to a transformer next we will show you the difference in voltage drop along a 5 meter real high-quality LED strip is 24 volts to carry the current better whereas low quality LED strip is 12 volt this will affect the output along a 5 meter reel which sinky which can also affect color mixes in large applications if the strips are butted up together the high quality LED strip will show 24 volts at the start of the reel and as you will see towards the end of the reel it is still showing 22 volts this means a voltage drop of around 8% the low quality LED strip will show 12 volts at the start of the reel and as you can see towards the end of the rail it is shown ten volts this means the voltage drop of around 16 percent double that of the high quality LED strip here we will show you the difference in the ability to be able to produce a pure white here we have bypass the controller and wide
both strips directly to a transformer this means all of the red green and blue LEDs are at 100% power in the higher quality LED strip the LED is a higher quantity Taiwan upstarts and these in the low quality LED strip there are Chinese alternatives as you will see in the high quality LED strip all of the red green and blue LEDs are around equal power meaning you can produce a nice pure white it's quite difficult to show this exactly in the video as you'll see in the low quality LED strip some of the LED colors a weak than others meaning a pure white cannot be exactly achieved there is more of a blue tint next we will show you the difference in the quality of the PCB a correct thickness PCB is crucial to disperse the heat from the LEDs to give the LED life of 70 percent brightness after 50,000 hours the high quality LED strip uses a 12 millimeter Y PCB and is 4 millimeters in thickness the low quality LED strip uses a 10 millimeter PCB and is free millimeters in thickness this means the low quality LED strip will deteriorate in brightness a lot quicker and will not last as long as the high quality type the low quality LED strip uses an unbranded sticky back tape the high quality LED strip uses the freedom branded self-adhesive backing tape as you will now know there are many different types of LED tape out there they can look the same and the supply can even claim the same quality and output or they complete completely different in style supplies commercial grade LED strips for both homes and commercial applications at low prices all goods are in stock made to length and for next day delivery please subscribe for weekly videos on LED installations wiring controllers and more
